My wife Mary and I founded Chainline Design in Bellingham, Washington. Life here in the PNW means weekends on the trails with our son Nolan in tow, our dog Taro running ahead of us, and a truck that’s always half-packed for the next trip.

We started Chainline because getting our truck camper jacks on and off was a pain, and I knew there had to be a better way. Using my background in engineering and precision manufacturing, I designed a quick-release system that turned a 20-minute chore requiring power tools into a task that takes less than a minute, one Nolan can do himself as soon as he’s tall enough to reach the jack.

When I posted about it online, I found I wasn’t the only one dealing with this frustration. Fellow overlanders began placing orders and came back with overwhelmingly positive feedback on the time savings and build quality. That’s how Chainline Design was born.

Our priority is getting people on the trail as fast as possible. Every minute you spend bolting and unbolting jacks is a minute you could have spent mountain biking, hiking, fishing, or doing whatever gets your family outside. We use the products we build, which means they have to actually work and they have to last.

Every bracket we sell is laser-cut from high-quality materials here in Bellingham. We’re not a warehouse operation. When your order ships, it’s because we built it and packed it ourselves.
